GRAEME SOUNESS could be axed by Newcastle within the next 72 hours.

Toon chairman Freddy Shepherd is seriously considering boss Souey’s future
following poor results during the Christmas period.

Shepherd has finally lost patience with Souness, despite the club’s
crippling injury list, and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce is the No 1 target
to take over at St James'.
