Wigan have signed Tottenham winger Reto Ziegler on loan for the rest of the season.
Paul Jewell has swooped for the Swiss international who is eligible to feature in The Latics' Carling Cup semi-final, second leg clash with Arsenal at Highbury.
The 20-year-old left-sided player had been on loan at Bundesliga outfit Hamburg earlier this season and made eight appearances for the Germans.
Ziegler was recalled by Martin Jol during the winter break in Die Bundesliga but the Dutchman had no qualms in agreeing another temporary deal with opposite number Jewell, who revealed his delight at the transfer.
"We're delighted Reto has agreed to come on board," Jewell told the club's official website.
""He is a highly regarded player at Tottenham and will add competition to the squad here.
"He's a strong six footer with a lot of pace and hunger and has packed a lot of experience into his short career so far. I'm sure the fans will take to him."
Ziegler is Jewell's fourth signing of the window and follows hot on the heels of the captures of David Thompson and Neil Mellor and earlier this month, Paul Scharner.
