Viola sign Ajax goalkeeper Lobont

Fiorentina have found Sebastien Frey’s replacement by officially signing Ajax goalkeeper Bogdan Lobont.
The 28-year-old shot-stopper is a Romanian international who moved from Rapid Bucharest in 2000, playing 68 games for the Dutch masters.
His contract was set to expire in June 2008 and the permanent move has been completed, announced the official Ajax website.
Fiorentina had claimed they would not sign a replacement for Frey (pictured), who is out for the rest of the season after knee ligament surgery.
Lobont is a familiar face to Italian football fans, as he performed a series of stunning saves in Milan’s 3-2 win over Ajax in the 2003 Champions League quarter-finals.
The Tuscan outfit also signed Everton defender Per Kroldrup, but have lost Marco Di Loreto for around 10 days with a thigh injury.
