Shepherd to Phil his boots?
Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd is reportedly ready to speak to Portugal boss Luis Felipe Scolari about becoming the next Toon boss.
The United chief has already admitted he may turn to a foreign manager as he begins the search for Graeme Souness' replacement - with Scolari thought to be on his shortlist.
The Brazilian, whose nickname is 'Big Phil', guided his country to glory at the 2002 World Cup Finals.
Shepherd could be ready to ask Scolari to combine managing Portugal and Newcastle until after the World Cup, when his contract with the former expires. |
