It's the end of another Premiership weekend. Here are the performances that caught the eye.
Dean Kiely has conceded five goals in his first three games at Portsmouth after joining the south coast club from Charlton during the transfer window. That's not a great record.
But Newcastle would have beaten Pompey by a much wider margin than 2-0 had the 35-year-old not been in such good form in Saturday's match at St James' Park.
Alan Stubbs was another veteran who enjoyed a good weekend, the Everton man helping his side overcome Manchester City at Goodison Park, while 19-year-old Johan Djourou was the star of Arsenal's young back-four in their win at Birmingham.
The defensive line is completed by William Gallas, who scored the opening goal as Chelsea effectively secured their second successive league title with victory over Liverpool in Sunday's big game.
Manchester United managed to keep at least a little pressure on Chelsea with a 3-2 Saturday evening victory over Fulham at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two of United's goals in a dazzling performance, and was promptly tipped by his manager to go on and finish the season with '15 to 20' goals to his name.
Jonathan Greening, himself once a young Manchester United winger, has been one of West Brom's shining lights this season, helping them open up a gap of six points between themselves and the relegation zone.
Greening netted the second goal in a 2-0 win against Blackburn and was generally excellent throughout, providing a number of telling crosses and through-balls for his strikers.
Nigel Reo-Cokerand Stelios Giannakopolous are becoming regular fixtures in the ESPN Team of the Week.
The pair again shone in the midfields of West Ham and Bolton respectively, with Stelios scoring his ninth goal of the season in a 1-1 northwest derby draw with Wigan.
Luke Moore's hat-trick for Aston Villa against Middlesbrough earns the 19-year-old a spot in the front three.
Moore took advantage of some woeful defending and clever play from strike partner Kevin Phillips to take his tally to four goals inside a week.
It has been a frustrating season for Jermain Defoe, but the World Cup hopeful took full advantage of a rare start with two poachers goals in Tottenham's 3-1 win over Charlton on Sunday.
But the real star of the week has to be Newcastle's Alan Shearer, who claimed his club record 201st goal when they needed it most in a 2-0 home win over Portsmouth.
The goal that took him past Jackie Milburn's record arrived with 64 minutes gone and put the seal on a much-improved performance from the Magpies.
'The goal was a big, big goal for me, obviously,' said the modest 35-year-old, 'but you have to believe me, the biggest relief was that it helped us get the three points.'
Our manager of the week is Glenn Roeder, who picked up the reigns at Newcastle following Graeme Souness' sacking in mid-week and coaxed a performance out of the squad that heralds a much brighter future.
