Viola make Babel bid

Reports in Italy have suggested that Fiorentina have made a €6 million (£4 million) bid to bring Ajax starlet Ryan Babel to the club in the summer.
The Viola are looking to bolster their attacking options with the possibility of Bulgarian striker Valeri Bojinov moving on in the summer.
19-year-old Babel has been a regular for Ajax this season making 24 appearances and winning three caps for the Dutch national side.
Ajax are rebuilding their squad for next season as poor form this term has seen the perennial title contenders slip into mid-table.
Therefore, the Amsterdam club are likely to be unwilling to let the talented youngster leave, and would only consider offers of around €10 million (£7 million).
Fiorentina are currently fourth in Serie A, 13 points behind leaders Juventus. |
