LIVORNO - After two consecutive Serie A defeats the Nerazzurri played out a scoreless draw with Livorno at the Stadio Armando Picchi.
Marco Materazzi had a bullet header well saved by Amelia after just two minutes of an evenly balanced first half, then Livorno went close through De Ascentis when the midfielder's first-time shot from the edge of the area was pushed behind for a corner by Toldo.
Martins forced an almost identical save from the Livorno goalkeeper with a cross-shot then had a penalty claim turned down eight minutes before the break after being shoved in the area by Grandoni.
Twenty minutes after the restart an unmarked Morrone sent a diving header wide from Pfertzel's cross, then substitute Luis Figo poked wide after weaving past two opponents.
Inter's latest signing Cesar came on for Solari to make his first-team debut with under fifteen minutes remaining, but it was Livorno's Cesar Prates who went closest to a goal when his header from Passoni's corner was saved off the line by Cristiano Zanetti in time added on.
With Serie A Week 26 out of the way the Champions League knockout stage comes alive in midweek, with Inter away to Ajax on Wednesday.
