Heinze Set For Early Return
Gabriel Heinze is convinced he is going to win his bet with Sir Alex Ferguson and make an unexpected return to action before the end of the season.
The Argentine defender sustained cruciate knee ligament damage during United's goal-less draw away to Villarreal and was expected to miss the remainder of the campaign including the World Cup in Germany.
But after spending the last two months recovering in Cadiz in Spain, the 27-year-old insists he will be ready to play as early as next month.
"I expect to play again in one month," he is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"The doctor of the Argentinian team Donato Villani has evaluated me and we are all optimistic. I have worked hard in Cadiz and the results have been very positive.
"I have a bet with Alex Ferguson on my return to the field this season and I am going to win it.
"I think about the World Cup in Germany as the big final target for my rehab."
