Curbishley in tribute to Roeder
Charlton manager Alan Curbishley is convinced Newcastle have the ideal caretaker boss in Glenn Roeder.
The former Watford and West Ham manager, whose career was put on hold in 2003 when he needed an operation on a brain tumour, took temporary control of the Magpies following the sacking of Graeme Souness.
And Curbishley, whose Addicks side visit St James's Park tonight, said: "It seems a long time ago when Glenn was ill and was at West Ham but he is enjoying his job as academy director at Newcastle. He is a capable pair of hands as caretaker manager there and it is just amazing how results change around after a manager has been dismissed.
"They have picked up some decent results since then and I'm sure they will be looking forward to this one. It was a sensible move by Newcastle to make him caretaker. He has been a Premiership manager and was available because he was already there.
"A new face coming in probably lifted the atmosphere there a little bit and they started picking up results, which always helps.
"He was definitely unlucky at West Ham being relegated with 42 points - the highest total ever. They had finished seventh the year before but that's how it goes.
"I understand he is really enjoying the academy job at Newcastle so we will have to see what develops up there. It looks like he has until the end of the season so we will have to see what results bring."

不過老實講,路逹上左來之來真係左,中,右都有攻擊,有組織,四個中場都會有唔同ge任務,而且仲可以發揮到所長
而已中場同前鋒協同都好完善,士氣又好
再加左副眼睛,感覺上佢真係同2年前完全唔同左
