Capello’s comment
Fabio Capello comments on the first leg match of Champions League first knockout round, ended 3-2 for Werder Bremen: “After all, it’s been a good match. Unfortunately, we allowed them to score the first goal and at the end we conceded two avoidable goals as both scored on place-kicks. And the very place-kicks, also because of Werder’s physical characteristics, were the main danger throughout the match, as we did not concede much else. We must give our opponents the due credit but it’s a pity as, in the first half, we found ourselves face to face with the goalkeeper three times and we did not score.”
