JOHANNESBURG, Feb 23 (Reuters) - The draw for the 2008 Africans Nations Cup qualifiers, released by the Confederation of African Football in Cairo on Thursday:
Group One: Djibouti, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Madagascar
Group Two: Botswana, Burundi, Egypt, Mauritania
Group Three: Lesotho, Niger, Nigeria, Uganda
Group Four: Mauritius, Seychelles, Sudan, Tunisia
Group Five: Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia, Rwanda
Group Six: Angola, Eritrea, Kenya, Swaziland
Group Seven: Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Senegal, Tanzania
Group Eight: Algeria, Cape Verde Islands, Gambia, Guinea
Group Nine: Benin, Mali, Sierra Leone, Togo
Group 10: Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Libya, Namibia
Group 11: Chad, Congo, South Africa, Zambia
Group 12: Malawi, Morocco, Zimbabwe
The qualifying campaign starts in September and runs for 12 months before the 16 finalists are decided.
The winners of the groups and the top three runners-up qualify for the finals in 2008.
Hosts Ghana qualify automatically for the finals. |
