Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as favourites to sign Ajax defender Hatem Trabelsi.
The highly-rated full back is understood to be on the wanted list of several top clubs - most notably Spurs' North London rivals Arsenal - but reports claim that he will be plying his trade at White Hart Lane next season.
Martin Jol is keen to sign the Tunisian international to provide competition for current first choice right back Paul Stalteri and his arrival would also provide him with more options, as the Canadian is quite at home on either flank or in midfield.
Trabelsi has refused to sign a new deal with the Dutch giants and he told the Mail on Sunday that he already knows where his future lies.
"I know where I'm playing next season," he confirmed. "But it is not up to me to reveal all of the details right now.
"That is up to the club. All that matters to me is that I walk out of the door at Ajax with my head up high.
"The first three years were brilliant. We did well in Europe, we won the league and we played fantastic football with Ajax.
"I got offers from a number of top European clubs. Ajax should have sold me. They refused and I said: 'Okay, I will see out my contract'.
"Now they are not happy."
Both Milan and Juventus are also understood to have been keen on signing the 29-year-old.
