Messi limps off
Leo Messi was forced to leave the pitch after just 23 minutes with a calf strain and this Wednesday he'll undergo tests to establish the extent of his injury.
The young Argentinean went down before the half hour and the Barca doctors saw immediately that he'd have to be taken off. First impressions made the medical staff believe that Messi has a calf strain on his right leg, but further tests to establish the full extent of the problem will take place on Wednesday.
Fans' appreciation
As Henrik Larsson ran on to take his place, Messi received a great round of applause from the more than 98,000 fans as well as a comforting arm round his shoulders from boss Frank Rijkaard, but even so the youngster was clearly upset about missing the game.
Two shots
Messi had already shown signs that he was about to be a decisive figure in the game, as he had been in the first leg, causing William Gallas all kinds of problems and twice cutting inside to test Cech with shots from outside the box, as well as linking up spectacularly on a couple of occasions with Ronaldinho.
