Italian World Cup winner Marco Tardelli is being linked with the vacant coaching job at Scottish club Hearts.
The SPL side, under fiery owner Valdas Ivanauskas, are looking for a new boss after the shock decision to axe Graham Rix recently.
Local media reports suggest that the former midfielder is a contender for the role, with ex-Parma tactician Nevio Scala also in the frame.
Hearts, who also saw previous boss George Burley leave this term, are believed to be tempted by Tardelli – despite his coaching career to date.
The 1982 World Cup star enjoyed a splendid playing career during spells at firstly Juventus and then Internazionale.
However, his success has been limited since he switched to the bench even if he did impress in charge of the Italian Under-21 side.
But spells in charge of Bari, Arezzo, the Egyptian national side and Inter haven’t been ones to remember.
The 51-year-old’s stint with the Nerazzurri lasted for less than a season before he was shown the door.
Hearts are currently second in the table, well behind leaders Celtic. |
