Villarreal eye Reds target
The agent of Liverpool target Victor claims his client still has offers to move to England at the end of the season, although Villarreal have now joined the chase for the winger.
The 30-year-old looked poised for a switch to Anfield during the January transfer window but saw the transfer collapse due to a wrangle over the financial terms of the deal.
Victor will become a free agent at the end of the season and has yet to be offered fresh terms by Deportivo La Coruna.
It seems likely Liverpool will rekindle their interest in the summer with his agent Jose Sanchez claiming that offers from England are already sitting on the table.
Sanchez insists, however, that no deal has yet been arranged, stating: "Nothing has been finalised."
It does seem, though, that the player's days at Depor are numbered with Sanchez revealing that there had been no talks over an extension.
"We have not received any calls from Lendoiro (Depor president) since January. I do not if he is still interested in Victor or not," he explained.
Villarreal are reported to have put the former Real Madrid man on their transfer hit-list and the player has admitted he would be attracted by a move to El Madrigal.
"It's an interesting option," he told Marca. "It (Villarreal) is the kind of club I would like to play for as I no longer believe I will be staying at Depor." |
