The San Siro was treated to a final-day celebration as Milan finished the season on 88 points. It has been a positive campaign overall, with the team getting so close to a Champions League final return before going out to Barcelona in the semi-finals. It has been a year of high drama for the Rossoneri, but now it is time to move on. As the players saluted the fans, we know for certain that Jaap Stam will not be with the club next season as the giant defender returns to Holland after two seasons. There is also speculation over Andriy Shevchenko, who watched the game with the fans by the goal in the 'Curva Sud', but if the Ukraine star decides to move on then he will do so with the applause of the fans ringing in his ear. The ties built up between Sheva and Milan over the last seven years will not be broken whatever the outcome. Every player has made his contribution this season, right down to the last kick of the last game. Marcio Amoroso was the lastest arrival and the Brazilian's late penalty in Sunday's win over Roma, was the final goal of the season. A good sign of things to come and the team are ready to start again, with desire and motivation as strong as ever.
