Werder Bremen have signed Inter defender Pierre Wome and are close to netting Roma stopper Sammy Kuffour.
The Cameroon international today completed his German switch after spending less than a year in Milan.
Wome, who leaves the Italian club on a free transfer, made just 12 appearances in the Nerazzurri shirt this term.
The 27-year-old has signed until June 30, 2008, after holding talks with Werder’s general director Klaus Allofs.
Wome, who has appeared in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, has also played for Brescia, Bologna, Roma, Lucchese and Vicenza during his Italian stint.
He’s also previously tasted foreign football with Fulham in the Premiership and Spanish side Espanyol.
Meanwhile, the African could soon be joined in Bremen by Kuffour (pictured) after his difficulties in the capital this term.
Having arrived last summer on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, it is believed that he wants a move back to the Bundesliga.
It’s unclear at this stage whether Roma are willing to release the 30-year-old who could face Italy at the World Cup Finals this summer for Ghana.
