Sampdoria winger Max Tonetto is ready to join Roma on a free transfer after undergoing a medical and could be accompanied by Antonio Di Natale.
It’s reported that Tonetto successfully passed a medical with Giallorossi doctors this afternoon and will put pen to paper on a three-year contract worth £500,000 per season.
The 31-year-old Sampdoria man has scored three goals in 33 Serie A appearances this term and ends his Marassi spell after just two campaigns.
He started his career at Reggiana in 1992 and went on to wear the jerseys of Fano, Ravenna, Empoli, Bologna, Lecce and Sampdoria.
Another new arrival is on the cards, as Udinese forward Di Natale (pictured) is looking at a future in the Stadio Olimpico.
“Roma and Sampdoria are very interested in Antonio,” explained agent Bruno Carpeggiani. “Udinese are asking for £4m to buy him out.”
The Capital outfit is finally able to bring in reinforcements after the end of the transfer embargo, placed on the club as punishment for their part in the Philippe Mexes farrago.
Among the names linked with the club are 19-year-old Strasbourg midfielder Ricardo Faty, Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Sergio and Lecce right-back Marco Cassetti. |
