Spurs Tempted By Davids/Babel Swap


Tottenham are believed to be prepared to let Edgar Davids return to Ajax as part of a deal that will bring young winger Ryan Babel to White Hart Lane.

Ajax boss Henk ten Cate has confirmed his desire to bring the midfielder back to Amsterdam and is confident on reaching a deal for the 33-year-old, who has another year to run on his contract with Spurs.

Tottenham have plenty of competition for places in the centre of midfield, so are likely to be willing to part company with Davids early, but could use the deal to sign Dutch international Babel.

The 19-year-old is a member of the Dutch World Cup squad and could solve boss Martin Jol's search for a left-sided winger.

I don't think Ajax will let Babel to leave (especially exchange wih other players, not sell for earn monry)

May be 新官 cannot control everything at the moment....if you were the chairman of Ajax, what would you think of this suggestion by Spurs ??
