Charlton Release Three Strikers
Charlton Athletic have released strikers Shaun Bartlett, Jonatan Johansson and Francis Jeffers at the end of their contracts.
Jeffers, 25, has struggled to make an impact at The Valley since joining the Addicks from Arsenal for £2.6 million in August 2004.
South Africa international Bartlett, 33, and 30-year-old Johansson have both spent nearly six years with South London Premiership club, but neither made many first team appearances in the season just ended.
Johansson finished last season on loan to Championship side Norwich City, and a permanent move could be in the offing.
Johansson told Charlton's official website: "It has been a great six years, but football has its ups and downs and everything has to come to an end. Looking back I had a great time."
Bartlett said: "I have always been made to fee l very welcome at Charlton, and want to thank the club and fans for that. I had a great time.
"It is the end of an era, with Alan Curbishley leaving as manager as well.
"I have got quite a few options now, but I have not made any decisions yet."
