Palermo are confident that they will sign Fabio Simplicio from Parma,
but insist that Cristiano Lucarelli is not an option.
“We are nearing a conclusion in the negotiations for Simplicio,”
said President Maurizio Zamparini.
“We could wrap everything up on Tuesday.”
The Brazilian has been heavily linked with the Sicilian club and it
now seems just a matter of time before a deal is done.
However, Zamparini has dismissed reports that Livorno striker
Lucarelli could be netted to boost their offensive options.
“Lucarelli is not a player who we are interested in,” added the
fiery chief who last week re-appointed Francesco Guidolin as Coach.
Palermo are one of the most active clubs on the transfer market and
yesterday agreed to sell Fabio Grosso to Inter.
“We started by asking for £6m and then came down to £5m,” revealed
Zamparini. “We agreed to sell for £4m and Hernan Dellafiore who is not
arriving on loan but is totally ours.”
