Barcelona Loan Maxi Lopez To Mallorca
Hot on the heels of the Gudjohnsen deal, Barcelona have loaned their young Argentinean striker, Maxi Lopez, to Real Mallorca for one season.
The youngster has spent the last 18 months on the fringes, after coming in as a winter replacement for the then crocked Larsson, after the Iaquinta deal with Udinese had fallen through.
Barcelona were set to loan him out this winter, and were sifting through offers from the likes of Real Betis, Real Sociedad and West Ham, only for Maxi to refuse.
He made less than five League appearances during the season, and most of them either in inconsequential matches, or as a late substitute.
He has since been convinced that a year of regular first team action with a lower team would be better for his career, than warming the benches at Barcelona.
Barcelona gave the green light to the move to Mallorca as soon as they had wrapped up the signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen. |
