Alves Too Expensive For Benitez

Sevilla's Brazilian full-back Daniel Alves has reportedly been deemed to expensive by Liverpool boss Benitez.

Alves was also tracked by Barcelona and Milan earlier.

However, Barcelona dropped their interest after Belletti's match-winner in the Champions League final, while Milan were forced to, earlier this month, when Alves declared he only wanted a move to Liverpool.

But it now appears that Rafael Benitez considers Sevilla's asking price - around £10 million - too high, and would rather look elsewhere than meet it.

Both Benitez and Alves had been keen on the move, which would have seen the Brazilian increase the Spanish influence at Anfield.

It remains to be seen whether Sevilla will lower their price, or whether Milan might want to come back into the picture after the earlier snub.

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is already impatient with the delay of the deal. Now he decides to walk away and turns the attention to other alternatives.

Agent Jose Rodriguez Baster said: "We're trying to reach a deal but it is not easy.”
