Manchester City consider Isaksson swoop

Manchester City Football Club are reportedly lining up a move for Andreas
Isaksson.
The Swedish goalkeeper was rated by some as the best shot-stopper at the
World Cup Finals this summer, despite their second round elimination to
hosts Germany.
Currently in France with Rennes, it has been reported that City boss Stuart
Pearce believes the 24-year-old could provide the long-term replacement for
David James who is in the last year of his contract.
The Blues are said to be lining up an offer to beat off a host of rival
clubs, yet his agent has told Sky Sports he is yet to hear anything from
Pearce.
"I haven't spoken to anyone at Manchester City about Andreas," said Roger
Ljung. "He has one year to run on his contract at Rennes and they are
offering him an extension and he is weighing things up.
"He would be interested in a move to the Premiership, but it all depends on
the club and the situation." |
