Camo and Toni face France Sunday 9 July, 2006

There are no surprises in Italy’s squad for tonight’s World Cup Final against France, as Mauro Camoranesi and Luca Toni keep their places.
There had been rumours Alessandro Del Piero would step in for Juventus teammate Camoranesi and take a wide midfield role on the left flank supporting Francesco Totti and Toni, but Coach Marcello Lippi stuck with the same line-up that started the semi-final against Germany.
As expected, Marco Materazzi maintains his place in central defence for the injured Alessandro Nesta, who is out with a groin strain. France also field the same side that beat Portugal 1-0 in their last match.
Captain Fabio Cannavaro runs out for his 100th Azzurri cap, while Gianluigi Buffon is just an hour away from beating Walter Zenga’s record of 517 minutes without conceding a World Cup goal, set in Italia ‘90.
The Italian squad is on the turf of Berlin’s Olympiastadion and the players were transfixed by the sheer number of fans who came across the borders for the Final.
The excitement is also building in the peninsula, were several giant screens have been set up in piazzas across the country and parties have been going on for hours.
