Newcastle close in on Klose?
Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd was in Germany on Saturday night - to run the rule over Miroslav Klose.
Reports have claimed the Magpies supremo has made the German international striker his number one target for the summer, following a recommendation from Toon legend Alan Shearer.
Klose helped Jurgen Klinsmann's side clinch third place in the World Cup on Saturday, and scored five goals in an impressive tournament for the host nation.
The 28-year-old plies his trade in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen, although recently intimated that he would like to try his luck in the Premiership.
Newcastle are desperate to land a World class striker, and could be ready to make a £6million bid for forward, who is also a reported target for Arsenal.
