Sevilla To Complete Chevanton Signing Today?

Sevilla look set to complete the signing of Monaco striker Javier Chevanton
today.

Having admitted defeat in their chase of Suazo, Sevilla turned their
attention to Chevanton, and are set to wrap up the deal today.

After refusing to take up the option of signing Saviola from Barcelona,
Sevilla coach Juande Ramos is looking to sign a forward, and rates the
26-year-old Uruguayan highly

Chevanton scored 19 goals for Lecce three seasons ago, before making a 15
million Euro move to Monaco, where he played with Saviola and Adebayor
during the 2004-05 season.

He then missed the the first half of last season through a serious injury,
but returned to score 10 goals in the second half.

The two clubs seem to have agreed a fee, but the player's wage demands have
proved to be a stumbling block. However, an announcement is expected soon.

Atletico Madrid Seal Mista Deal

Atletico Madrid's summer signing spree seems to continue unabated, with
Valencia forward Mista the latest to join their ranks.

Atletico moved for Mista after Los Ches signed Morientes from Liverpool, and
quickly reached an agreement which will see 4 million Euros change hands.

The deal was struck late last evening, and will be completed today. Mista
will undergo a medical on Thursday, before signing a four year deal, with a
fifth year as an option.

The negotiations have been hurried with a view to have Mista ready by
Saturday, to leave for the team's training camp in Germany.

Atleti's latest signing happens to be a product of the Real Madrid youth
system, from where he moved to Tenerife, before being snapped up for
Valencia by Rafa Benitez.

The signing comes on the heels of Fernando Torres announcing that he will
stay with the Rojiblancos - who also have Mateja Kezman on their rolls - for
at least another year.
