Insua passes Foals medical
Boca Juniors playmaker Federico Insua has gone a vital step closer to sealing his move to Borussia Monchengladbach after passing a medical at Borussia Park.
The gifted midfielder has been a prime target for the Bundesliga outfit for the last year, but his switch has been extremely difficult to complete due to doubts over who holds the player's transfer rights.
The 26-year-old has already joined up with his new team-mates for training, despite the fact the two clubs have yet to reach a deal.
"We still have to hold talks with Boca again, but I hope over the next few days we'll settle all the difficulties and sign the contracts," director of sport Peter Pander said.
Foals coach Jupp Heynckes is convinced that Insua will be the long-awaited reinforcement in their midfield.
However, he has warned the fans not to pin all their hopes on the Argentine straight away.
"We are very much looking forward to having him in our squad, but we shouldn't make the mistake and put all the weight on his shoulders," stressed Heynckes.
"We have to make sure he gets integrated first." |
