This shirt is currently being researched !
The shirt is a white away Champions League shirt from the period 1999-2002. It naturally has the correct type and size of Champions League sleeve badge and unmarked Champs League numbers and correct size letters on the rear of the shirt. Its as you can see a SEGA sponsor and features the embroidered Nike Tick on the chest and the "proper" Arsenal crest.
We are currently investigating when Arsenal may have worn this shirt but all info points to it NOT being worn in the CL but possibly a strip being made up in case it was required. We are aware that this is an oddity, but for a reason we cant find, Arsenal wore the Dark Blue in
the first half and the Yellow in the 2nd half for their home match v. Sparta Prague on Oct 25, 2000. Could this shirt have been made up in case of a similar circumstance arising?
We have info to suggest it was worn once but records dont back this up. So what is this shirt?
It MAY have been a prototype shirt but its strange it was made up in Champions League details. ( And in Spurs White Colour ;-)
If you can offer any info on this shirt we would be very grateful.
