 United lining up another midfield swoop?

Manchester United Football Club are reportedly keen on Mikel Arteta.
The Spanish midfielder won many fans last season for his impressive
performances for Everton, and Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be
considering weighing up an offer.
Although he has already added Michael Carrick to his squad at a price of ￡18.6million,
and Marco Senna looks to be joining from Villarreal, the Reds boss is still
keen on reinforcements.
Ferguson is all too aware that Senna will be 31-years-old next year whilst
Paul Scholes is 32 this year, and at the age of 24, Arteta is not yet at his
peak.
However, United will have one hell of a fight on their hands to sign the
former Rangers star from Goodison Park, with manager David Moyes convinced
he will be a star turn this season.
"If Mikel continues the way he is playing just now, then he will be one of
the top performers in The Premiership next season," said Moyes.
"We can play him on the right, on the left or in the middle of the park and
he is an all-round footballer who can dribble and pass the ball well.” |
