Atalanta Vieri keen on Bobo Thursday 24 August, 2006

Christian Vieri is just days away from signing a minimum wage deal with Atalanta, reports in Italy are suggesting.
Vieri has been associated with the Bergamo outfit after rescinding his newly signed contract with Sampdoria and following a rejection from Juventus.
The former Azzurri striker has already appeared for Atalanta during the 1995-96 season before moving to Juve.
Now he could amazingly return in a minimum wage deal worth just over £1,000 a month as he continues his comeback from knee surgery.
Atalanta President Ivan Ruggeri and the player’s agent, Sergio Berti, met on Thursday and are now scheduled to close the deal on Monday when Vieri may put pen to paper on a 12-month contract.
The Bergamaschi club are understood to be willing to offer the former Inter ace an increase in his wages with the aid of bonuses based on his performances.
The 33-year-old accepted a reduced £575,000 salary in return for a one-year deal with Sampdoria in July until his unexpected separation.
Vieri has also been paired with Shakhtar Donetsk, while other reports suggested he was instead considering a spell in Qatar’s multi-million pound championship to end his career.
