Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Fishball stadium saw a crowd turnout of 12000. FR4 started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. They fielded: Zetterstad - Colmenares, Ming Fang, Pont, Won Chang - Talpaz, Chun Leung, Larsson, Hielkema, Tuckey - Man Fung.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for PK. The following players took the field: Kindfeldt - Yuk-Wah, Ti-cheng, Chee-Cheng - Szu Ma, Sin-Wee, Long-Quan, Chang Sheng, Kuan-yin - Lalciu, Alberche.
For their match strategy, FR4 had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. PK tried to focus their attacks down the middle. PK took the lead in the game's 4th minute, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Gan Chee-Cheng was the scorer. FR4's defense sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack, but Sun Man Fung's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. The visitors' Yang Ti-cheng took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs in the 20th minute. 0 - 2 for PK. In the 29th minute, PK's Enrique Alberche burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. The structure of the game started to change as PK decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. In the 30th minute, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Enrique Alberche, of PK, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 0 - 4. Halftime score was 0 - 4. This half belonged to PK, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.
After 54 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Jian Yuk-Wah who increased PK's lead to 0 - 5. The visitors' Tong Long-Quan took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs in the 74th minute. 0 - 6 for PK. A thrilling play through the middle in the 75th minute gave PK's Li Sin-Wee a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 7. In the 79th minute, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Lin Kuan-yin, of PK, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 0 - 8.
