達利奧施華截肢後首度開腔
Former Portsmouth striker Dario Silva is ready to build a new life after having part of his leg amputated following a car accident.
The former Uruguay striker has been in a Montevideo hospital since the early hours of September 24, when he was badly injured after losing control of his car and hitting a column of street lights.
The ex-Cagliari and Malaga frontman spoke for the first time about his ordeal on Italian television.
"After the surgery, I felt really bad but then I had no choice but to accept it," Silva told Canal 4.
"I really didn't expect this situation to happen to me but that's what it is. It's a game I've lost and I have to try to recover and hope to overcome it.
"I was at the end of my career - my reaction would have been different had I been a 20-year-old and had to sign a contract."
Silva, 33, will be discharged later this month and is considering a career as a TV commentator.
"In 20 days' time, I will travel to Italy to get my leg prosthesis," he said.
"I have some work proposals but what I really want is to recover as soon as possible and run behind a ball with my children." |
