The crowd of 779 turning up at 9hea - 圓月彎刀 today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Architectz tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players took the field: Feikai - Umfahrer, Osvald, Lizhou - Jin Hien, Cho, Neves, Romano - Druvaskalns, Sying, Palopelto.
AjaxHK had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Hönnig - Fook Sang, Araújo, Reuven, Tuan Teck - Müller, Beng Kuan, Huaishan, Lohner - Organvides, Ernst.
AjaxHK saw most attack opportunites on the wings. In the 4th minute of the match, Architectz's Zhong Jin Hien demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to Kari Palopelto who chipped it in for 1-0. After an industrious effort down the middle, Ding Sying could have closed the game off in the 10th minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. AjaxHK showed their counterattack skill in the 17th minute, with Carlos Araújo scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. After a fine move down the middle Magnis Druvaskalns nearly gave the home side one up in the 27th minute. The finishing shot went just wide, though. A well placed corner kick from Carlos Araújo was followed by Zhang Tuan Teck's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for AjaxHK, the score now 1-2. Architectz's opponents know to be wary of Zhong Jin Hien's speed, but it made little difference as he blew past the defence in the 36th minute. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! In the 38th minute, Architectz's Magnis Druvaskalns surprised the visitors with a 40 metre pass to Kari Palopelto who easily found the net, bringing the score to 2 - 2. In the 42nd minute cheers broke out as Kari Palopelto found his way through the guests' central defence, clipping the 3 - 2 goal in for Architectz. By then Kari Palopelto was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Zhang Tuan Teck of AjaxHK received a yellow card in the 43rd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 2. This half belonged to Architectz, who controlled the ball 87 percent of the time.
Architectz managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when Zhong Jin Hien cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Confident in their lead, Architectz decided to play a more defensive game at this point. AjaxHK had to make a substitution in the 57th minute. Carlos Araújo limped off the field and was replaced by Ao Yiu Hung. The referee showed Architectz's Yannick Umfahrer the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Cai Beng Kuan of AjaxHK was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. This half belonged to Architectz, who controlled the ball 93 percent of the time.
Magnis Druvaskalns performed admirably for Architectz. On the other hand, Lin Feikai's play was disheartening. AjaxHK's best player was Lütmar Hönnig. Cai Beng Kuan turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
