Inter Milan to tour Bahrain

MANAMA: Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan will play a friendly against the Bahrain national team here early next year.

The match is part of a 10-day Bahrain Football Festival which will be held from January 1-10. A top Inter official said the team would be camping in the Bahraini capital for a week.

Bahrain qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2007 Finals recently with a 2-1 win over Kuwait and coach Hans-Peter Briegel said the Inter match would help his team prepare for the Gulf Cup which will be played the same month. “For us it will be a good preparation for the Gulf Cup since it will only be a few days before and I'm sure we will get a lot from it.”
