法新社邁阿密十四日電） 邁阿密熱火隊替補中鋒莫寧，今天宣布從美國職籃NBA退休，正式結束這位三十七歲球星十五年的職業生涯。


莫寧本季之前即表示，這是他最後一季。而去年十二月十九日出戰亞特蘭大老鷹隊時受傷斷裂的右膝膝腱和四頭肌腱，迫使他提前宣布退休。


莫寧已接受手術治療膝傷，不過他在熱火隊網站上宣佈，職籃生涯到此結束。


他說：「我已經退休了，到此為止。如果我什麼時候有意願的話，可能會尋找擔任教練的機會。」


兩度獲選為年度最佳防守球員的莫寧，是美國體壇第一位接受腎臟移植後還能繼續打球的選手。


莫寧在二零零三年被診斷出罹患罕見腎臟疾病，不過在接受移植手術後，二零零四年至二零零五年球季隨即重返球場。


莫寧在一九九二年以選秀榜眼身分進入NBA，先後效力夏洛特黃蜂、新澤西籃網和熱火，生涯共出賽八百三十七場，平均每場攻下十七點一分和八點五個籃板。


莫寧唯一的總冠軍是在二零零六年效力熱火隊時所拿下。

Heat Acknowledge Error In Mourning 'Retirement' Story

Although Alonzo Mourning is expected to retire in the wake of the devastating knee injury he sustained Dec. 19 in Atlanta, neither the center nor the Heat say that retirement is official.

An interview posted, and then removed, Monday on the Heat's web site, Heat.com, quoted Mourning as saying, "Yes. I'm retired. This is it for me."

Shortly after those comments appeared on several wire services, Heat spokesman Tim Donovan said, "A mistake was made and it's not an accurate story and it's been pulled, with our apologies."
