Juventus win Super Cup appeal

Juventus have won their appeal against how the Italian Super Cup prize money will be shared out with Lazio.

The Lega Serie A decided to give the capital giants the bigger share of the €2.4m fund given that the game had to be played in Italy.

The tie could have been staged in Beijing, China, which would have seen each team come home with €1.8m.

However, Juventus refused to play in China given that it would have interfered with their already arranged pre-season tour of America.

Lazio chief Claudio Lotito successfully argued with the Lega that his side should get €1.8m, with Juve being handed the remaining €600,000.

Juve subsequently appealed to the Italian Olympic Committee and their High Court has today ruled that the funds need to be distributed differently.

The Lega Serie A will now have to review their original decision.
