The winger would like to remain in Italy, preferably to Roma.
Mauro Esposito’s excellent first season in Serie A caught the eye of many important teams who are after his services, first of which Roma.
“I know that Roma were after me and they made a concrete interest before the TAS story, then, however, the FIFA problem blocked the contacts. However I do not exclude a move to the Capital city. I feel fine at Cagliari, but I would be ready to leave in case of an offer from a big squad and Roma is a good club with great players. It also has a fantastic public and the city is marvellous."
However, Esposito denied he will leave Italy, despite attracting Didier Deschamp’s Monaco.
“There was a strong interest by Monaco, but I would prefer to remain in Italy also because I target the World Cup next year and playing in our league would help me.” |
