Inter Coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that he would be happy to join Chelsea, according to reports in England.
The Nerazzurro’s contract expires in six months and he has yet to renew his deal, fuelling speculation that he might leave the San Siro at the end of term.
The Sun newspaper have reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is planning to replace Jose Mourinho with Mancini and the latter seems to have no objection.
“I would really love to manage a Premiership side one day. Chelsea? It would be fantastic,” the Jesi-born tactician is quoted as saying.
Inter chief Massimo Moratti has insisted that Mancio will remain even if the Coach recently made it clear that a renewal is not a formality.
According to a friend of the former Sampdoria, Lazio and Italy striker, a move away from the Nerazzurri is a possibility.
“He will not leave Inter without giving it a lot of thought, but he knows Chelsea are interested in him. It’s 50-50 whether he stays or goes,” said the unknown source.
Reports suggest Abramovich is ready to offer Mancini, who also had a short spell at Leicester in 2001, a £6.4m a year contract to convince him to move to Stamford Bridge.
Mancini has also admitted this week that he is taking English lessons.
