Rooney and McClaren in dressing-room spat
England manager Steve McClaren and star striker Wayne Rooney were involved ina dressing-room row after the goalless draw against Israel, according toreports.

The Manchester United forward is said to have walked out of the dressing roomafter being singled out for criticism by McClaren, whose team have now failed toscore in four of their last five matches.Rooney has failed to score a competitive goal for England since Euro 2004 andMcClaren is reported to have told the 21-year-old that he has not played wellfor his country for three years.Rooney reportedly responded by throwing his boots and kit at the wall infrustration and it is reported the argument was so loud it could be heard in theIsrael dressing room next door.The former Everton forward endured a frustrating evening, failing to reallyget into the game and being shown a yellow card after a spat with Boltondefender Tal Ben Haim.

Rooney spat with McClaren - Report               

England coach Steve McClaren and Wayne Rooney were reportedly involvedin adressing-room row after the goalless draw against Israel.

TheManchester United striker is said to havewalked out of the dressingroom in Tel Aviv after being singled out forcriticism by McClaren,whose team have now failed to score in four oftheir last five matches.
Rooneyhas failed to score a competitive goal for England sinceEuro 2004 andMcClaren is reported to have told the 21-year-old that hehas not playedwell for his country for three years.
In response, Rooney isclaimed to have shouted back atMcClaren, telling the England coach thathe wasn't the only player inthe team capable of scoring goals, and bythrowing his boots and kit atthe wall in frustration.
According tothe Daily Mirror, Rooney 'also launched into afoul-mouthed rant aboutBolton's Israel defender Tal Ben Haim which wasso loud it was heard inthe home dressing room.'
Along with Ben Haim, Rooney had been bookedfor a petulantsecond-half squabble, and the Daily Mail claims that'Rooney had to berestrained by skipper John Terry from entering theIsrael dressing roomto confront the Bolton defender.'
Rooney'sbelow-par performance was defended by team-mate StevenGerrard, whoargued pertinently: "You can't just point your finger atthe strikers.It's down to myself, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon andother players tohelp the forwards score goals."
Gerrard and Rooney were among sixplayers - the others beingJohn Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole andFrank Lampard - who weresingled out as under-performing for England byMcClaren at a teammeeting on Wednesday.
It remains to be seenwhether McClaren is now prepared to backhis words with the axe. Whenasked if he was willing to drop one of his'star' players following theTel Aviv setback, McClaren insisted: "Yes.People must produce. Theymust perform. They know that."
