MILAN - Roberto Mancini spoke on Rai television after Inter's 6-2 loss to the Giallorossi in the first leg of this year's Tim Cup final.
"Roma did very well in the first fifteen minutes, while we started very badly and conceded too many spaces to the Roma players," he admitted.
"We tried to recover but it was difficult after going three goals down after just a quarter of an hour."
The Inter boss added: "Roma probably had more incentives than us. The approach and the incentives proved decisive today.
"Like I have just said, we made a terrible start to the match, and they started very well."
On Inter's chances of a return-leg comeback, Mancini said: "I think it's hard, but we have a match to play and we will see what we can do. We need a miracle.
"Crespo's performance the only good thing? There's nothing much good when you lose like this."
