La Liga - Robben close to Real deal

Arjen Robben's father and agent is hopeful that his son's move to Real Madrid can be completed within the next 48 hours.

Robben has been subjected to a tug-of-war between Chelsea and Real all summer, with the Blues holding out for around £25 million but Real attempting to get a better deal by unsettling the Netherlands winger.
"We hope that the agreement between Real Madrid and the Chelsea can be closed tomorrow," Robben senior told AS. "Between now and Wednesday we think that everything can be solved.
"My son cannot make any sort of declaration or grant any interview until the agreement between Madrid and Chelsea is reached."
Robben, 22, was an instant hit at Stamford Bridge when he moved from PSV three years ago but has since suffered a succession of injury problems along with accusations that he is too lightweight for the English game.
Real, meanwhile, are short of left-sided players and are believed to be making a joint bid for Robben and German midfielder Michael Ballack, who has struggled to settle in the Premier League.
it's a gd deal if we sell at a gd price..... i'd prefer getting 20m euro rather than pay him for <15 games per season.... |
