Grosso nears Lyon switch

Inter defender Fabio Grosso is set to arrive in Lyon within the next 24 hours to discuss personal terms with the French champions.
The Roman wing-back joined the Nerazzurri from Palermo in June 2006 for around £3.7m and appeared to be one of the summer’s best bargains after his heroics in the Azzurri’s World Cup triumph.
However, Grosso has failed to settle at the San Siro and had a disappointing campaign despite lifting the Scudetto trophy.
According to L’Equipe, Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Les Gones are preparing a four-year contract worth nearly £1.4m and will offer Inter just under £5m.
Grosso met with Aulas and other representatives in Monte Carlo yesterday and is set to visit the Stade Gerland this weekend for a medical before he can complete the move.
