Adriano: I want Man City
Monday 12 November, 2007
Adriano has revealed that he is happy to quit Inter for Manchester City with Rolando Bianchi moving the other way, according to Press reports.
The Brazilian star’s future remains a mystery as relations with boss Roberto Mancini have become untenable and there are suggestions that he may be sacked.
While L’Imperatore considers England a fresh start, ex-Reggina marksman Bianchi has failed to settle at Manchester City and would relish a return to the peninsula.
“I have spoken to the club and I am moving on in January,” the 25-year-old told the News of the World.
“My first choice is Manchester City and Sven Goran Eriksson and I know that Inter like Bianchi.”
City owner Thaksin Shinawatra has already stressed that Eriksson will be given money to strengthen the squad in January and the transfer fee should be manageable.
“We will invest in the winter window if we see the right player at the right price,” Shinawatra said.
“I know that Sven has some ideas and I will continue to give him the support he needs.”
Inter officials are expected to travel to Manchester within the next fortnight to open negotiations.
