It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 39652 that came out to Air Arena. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Football. The following players took the field: Ilgis - Eisenhut, Piccioni, Mertl - Eng Kang, Rodriguez, Waterhouse, Landau, Gustavsson - Turner, Wallheim.
Peters decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Solinas - Star, Mayer-Vorfelder, Borre - Prati, Becklund, Yun-Cheng, Sahlell, Chua Kah - Micu, Ting Yu.
Football used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. It was an obvious ambition of Peters to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. After 29 minutes, Peters put themselves up by 0 - 1, as Mou Ting Yu finished off a strike from the left with a real cannon placed at the far post. Xaver Wallheim pulled a real crowd pleaser as he, in the 30:th minute, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. After 36 minutes, Peters's Constantin Micu made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. Peters's Sebastian Mayer-Vorfelder received a play slashing through the home side's central defense in the 40:th minute, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 1 - 3 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. It was 1 - 3 at the break. This half belonged to Football, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
Joey Waterhouse had a good opportunity to reduce in the 47:th minute for Football with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. Deng Chua Kah wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when Joey Waterhouse tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. Costantino Solinas was too alert for that! Football's Tony Rodriguez managed a superb strike from the left in the 49:th minute that would have left goalkeeper Costantino Solinas without a chance, had it not hit the post. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Football, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.
Most important Football player was Amiad Landau. Blažej Mertl on the other hand, had a terrible day. Peters's best player was Sebastian Mayer-Vorfelder. Mou Ting Yu turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3. |
