Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Rated-R-Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 35000. Football had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Ilgis - Piccioni, Malul, Eisenhut - Eng Kang, Rodriguez, Waterhouse, Landau, Gustavsson - Saavedra, Wallheim.
Peters started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Solinas - Piekara, Mayer-Vorfelder, Borre - Haaning, Gálvez, Becklund, Yun-Cheng, Chua Kah - Allikmäe, Micu.
Lee Eng Kang's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his 4:th minute goal up the middle gave Football the 1 - 0 lead. Football had to make a substitution in the 10:th minute. Amiad Landau limped off the field and was replaced by Anders Knutsson. Alexander Gustavsson's lightning pace was too much for Gniewosz Piekara who could only look on as the Football player blasted one home. 2 - 0. Confident in their lead, Football decided to play a more defensive game at this point. After 21 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Nicolás Oreste Saavedra might have resulted in another goal for Football. However, Costantino Solinas made a spectacular save. Football's Lee Eng Kang got himself booked for a foul. At 32 minutes, the visitors got a chance to reduce the score when a penalty was awarded, but Wang Yun-Cheng, intimidated by the crowd, missed it. 40 minutes into the game, Peters's attack got through on the right, but Richo Allikmäe couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. |
