Campo goes as Bolton release trio
Bolton have released Ivan Campo, Stelios Giannakopoulos and Andranik Teymourian but hope to persuade keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen to stay at the club.
Jaaskelainen and defender Ricardo Gardner's contracts expire at the end of June but boss Gary Megson is hopeful of extending their stay at the Reebok.
"Jussi and Ricardo have been excellent servants and are still very much part of my future plans," said Megson.
"Hopefully, we can get them secured on new deals as soon as possible."
The midfield trio have all been released as Bolton prepare for next season's Premier League campaign after escaping relegation by a single point.
"Ivan, Stelios and Andranik have all done well for Bolton and I'd like to express my gratitude to them," Megson added on the club's website.
It's time for them to move on and I wish them all the best."
"After a successful loan period, Spaniard Campo, 34, joined Bolton from Real Madrid in 2003, the same year Greek star Stelios arrived at the club.
Iranian international Andranik joined Bolton after impressing during the 2006 World Cup but has only made nine appearances this season.
Keeper Jaaskelainen missed the latter half of Bolton's season after he injured his back while warming up for Bolton's Uefa Cup tie against Sporting Lisbon on 6 March.
Long-serving Jamaican Gardner completed his ninth campaign with Bolton at the end of the season.

Louis Saha accepts that his Manchester United career could come to an end after the Champions League final against Chelsea.
The injury-plagued striker has started only five Premier League games this season and expects Sir Alex Ferguson to be in the market for a replacement in the summer.
Saha arrived at Old Trafford in a ?2million move from Fulham in January 2004 but has suffered a series of injury problems.
As United prepare for the Champions League final in Moscow, the France international concedes it may mark his final involvement with the Barclays Premier League champions.

Painful
Saha said: "The future isn't in my hands, but I'll try to make it happen for me.
"I know this could be my last game, and I would understand if the manager went for another striker. It would be painful if he did because I love the club so much.
"I can't speak about my future too much really now, though. It's about the club. The main thing is to win the Champions League and maybe that will change things."

Reports in South America suggest Sven Goran Eriksson has agreed to become the next coach of Mexico.

The CNN news channel has reported that Manchester City manager Eriksson has agreed a contract with the Mexican FA, although there has been no official announcement.

Guillermo Cant? the director of the Mexican national team said: "In the last meeting that the board members had it was said that the name of the new coach was going to be handled carefully and that we are working for getting the best option as soon as possible.

"It has also been said who was going to be on the bench in the match against Belize and that hasn't changed, Jesus Ramirez will be the coach in that match.

"In addition, what has been said on television hasn't been said in any other international network, most of all from England and Portugal so for the moment we don't know where this came from."

Reports in the Mexican media suggest Cant?was recently in England to discuss the position with Eriksson, who is said to have been offered $9million to qualify for the World Cup in 2010.

Meanwhile, there are signs that Eriksson's frosty relationship with City owner Thaksin Shinawatra may be thawing.

The Swede's future is on hold while Thaksin carries out his well-publicised review of the club, but for the first time the former Thai prime minister has stated that Eriksson has done a good job in his first season.

"I acknowledge that Eriksson did well in his first year with the club," Thaksin told The Nation.

"He managed to haul the team from 14th place last year to ninth this season.

"We had been as high as fourth for a while but we then slipped down because some of the first-choice players suffered injuries."

Liverpool FC eye swoop for top Italian Andreas Dossena

LIVERPOOL are ready to swoop for highly rated Italian international defender Andreas Dossena.

Rafa Benitez has identified the 26-year-old Udinese star as the man to fill his problem left back position and reports emanating from Italy suggest preliminary talks have already taken place between Reds officials and Dossena's advisers.

Dossena only recently signed a new four and a half year deal with Udinese but the Serie A club is believed to be ready to do business should anyone be prepared to meet their asking price for a player who is regarded as one of the most improved in Italian football in recent seasons.

That fee could be as high as £8m, particularly with several other European clubs being on Dossena's trail.

But with the out of favour John Arne Riise set to be sold during the summer the cash raised from his likely sale would help offset the cost of Dossena should Liverpool's pursuit of him prove fruitful.

Dossena made his debut for the Italian national team in November when Azzuri manager Roberto Donadoni awarded him his first cap in a friendly fixture against South Africa and he is in contention for a place in the Italy squad for Euro 2008.

Renowned for his ability to get forward into attacking positions, Dossena has featured at both left back and wing back for Udinese, who finished seventh in Serie A last season.

With Fabio Aurelio's ongoing injury problems and the promising Emiliano Insua still considered too young for regular first team football, Benitez is keen to bring in a new left sided defender at the earliest opportunity.

Dossena is his first choice to fill that role and the Reds boss will be looking to tie up a deal for the Italian as his summer squad rebuilding programme gets under way in earnest.

Meanwhile, reserve team goalkeeper David Martin has signed a new contract with the club which will keep him at Anfield until June 2010.

The 22-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance since joining the club from MK Dons in January 2006 although he did make the be nch when Reading came to Anfield for a Carling Cup clash in October later that year.
