Italian fashion legend Giorgio Armani has urged AC Milan not to sell Kaka to Manchester City.

The Brazil playmaker, who no doubt has a wardrobe full of Armani couture as part of an endorsment he has with the designer, is mulling over a £108million move to Eastlands after the Rossoneri gave him permission to open discussions with City while they consider whether or not to accept the offer.

Armani told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Kaka's transfer? I would rather tell (AC Milan club administrator Adriano) Galliani to sell all of Milan.

"It's useless to sell such an important player."

City are also reportedly willing to pay Kaka a record weekly wage and Armani accepts it would be a tough offer to reject.

He added: "I would be very sad if Kaka left. With Kaka and his wife I have a splendid relationship, they are wonderful people.

"But I understand that such an offer is difficult to turn down."

Kaka's father and agent, Bosco Leite, is expected in Milan today to have talks with the club.

And Armani believes he faces a huge responsibility.

"If I was (Kaka's) father I would be divided," Armani said.

"Financially, it's a possibility that perhaps will never happen again, to him or to Milan.

"But I don't know, this kind of money for such a young lad, I would rather have him grow up with the head of a normal human being.

"There are people that have made so much money in such a short space of time and at a certain age they have nothing.

"The whole system is wrong.

"It cannot be that a researcher earns 1500 euros a month and actors, footballers, are paid a ridiculous sum."

Kaka played for Milan on Saturday night in their 1-0 victory over Fiorentina.

There were numerous banners at the San Siro showing support for Kaka and pleading with Milan not to sell the team's best player.

The whole issue is causing a rift between supporters and the Milan hierarchy.

Galliani said: "This club and this ownership deserve respect and love from the fans.

"I don't know what Kaka will do.

"I have the same feelings as the fans but, being AC Milan club administrator, I must see reason.

"We will see what happens, nothing has been signed, neither from us nor the player.

"However, I cannot make a prediction on how Kaka's situation will unfold."

Milan play a friendly in Germany on Wednesday against Hannover.
