Claudio Ranieri: My Juventus Will Be Back On Top In Five Years

Today's 2-2 draw away to rock-bottom Reggina saw Juventus lose second place to Milan. Following the match, coach Claudio Ranieri commented on his side's poor performance and remained defiant when he was asked about his future.
"We played poorly in the first half hour, but after their opening goal we reacted well," he said to Sky Sport Italia. "The match was intense and hard-fought until the end. We are giving our all at the moment, although undoubtedly lately we have struggled, we are paying for the Champions League preliminaries.
"However, we have recovered players like [Mauro] Camoranesi and [Cristiano] Zanetti. We didn't win, but we showed desire. We came back twice. Everyone gave their all, I can't say anything against the team.
"The penalty on [Alessandro] Del Piero? I even heard the contact from the bench, but I don't want to protest, mistakes are human."
On his and the team's future, he said: "I will not leave Juventus, and I will not do the same as Didier Deschamps, who left Juventus because he disagreed with Juventus' project.
"That foolishness is the behaviour of a young person, I did the same when I was young but not now… Juventus gave me a project of five years to come back at a high level”.
It remains to be seen what Juventus fans will make of this last statement, as it is unlikely many will be prepared to accept five years without silverware.
