Adebayor, Silvestre ridiculed at AST meeting

Emmanuel Adebayor and Mikael Silvestre were ridiculed during the Arsenal Supporters Trust gathering just days ago.

Dismayed shareholders criticised the teams performances along with the players while Arsene Wenger eventually hit back at the Gunners’ own critics.

When a supporter dubbed French defender Silvestre a ‘geriatric’, Wenger fumed:

    “I cannot accept what you say about our players. Are you a shareholder? I cannot accept that you speak about the players of your club like that. I don’t agree with the terms you use.”

Silvestre was not the only name insulted by the Arsenal faithful, Emmanuel Eboue and namesake Adebayor were also on the receiving end of some harsh abuse.

The latter, arguably deservedly, received criticism for his poor form on and off the pitch.

    “Adebayor has done fantastically well for the club. All the big clubs wanted him last summer and it will be the same again this summer. Some players have bad periods.”

    “If they don’t do well it is because they have lost confidence. But the only way to help a guy who has lost confidence is to support him. Slaughtering him it does not help him.

    “One day you will look back at this period and say it is not disastrous. I am not pretentious enough to think I do not make mistakes. But you have to give me one credit.”

WEBFLASH: Laursen Retires


Villa are sad to announce Martin Laursen's retirement from football.

The club captain made the decision after being faced with another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

He elected to hang up his boots rather than undergo another major operation - this time on his right knee.

The retirement of the lionheart defender will be a huge loss to the players, the manager and the fans.

一路好走
本來佢同美爾保係可以好合拍...
但可惜佢地合拍既機會真係唔多....
古拿上位吧....
